Synchronising Distributed Networks
Telemidi enables sub-millisecond synchronisation of distributed nodes across Wide Area Networks (WANs), to serve a broad range of industries and network conditions. Our patent-pending TEMPO protocol was designed to solve a musical timing problem, however, its ability to ensure sub-millisecond node-sync and capacity to operate under varying degrees of degraded network conditions, unlocks new potential.
What is Telematic Music Performance (TMP)?
Telematic Music Performance refers to simultaneous musical collaborations between people in different locations, by using the Internet. The central challenge is latency (time delays), since even a 30ms latency will disrupt musical rhythm, and make simultaneous musical collaboration difficult.
Telemidi advances this field by transmitting MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) performance information via the patent-pending TEMPO protocol. TEMPO minimises latency times while optimising musicality, to support synchronised interactions, meaningful responsiveness, and new forms of creative exchange across the Telemidi Platform.
Telemidi Functionality
Telemidi Platform
Users sign in to access Telemidi services.
The platform provides a ringfenced community and is the foundation for all activity.
TEMPO
TEMPO is the patent-pending software that enables the lowest latency times, and optimal output for audiences. TEMPO is the lynchpin for all users, and distinguishes Telemidi from all other TMP competitors.
Applications
Applications addressing various industry needs are hosted within the platform. All harness TEMPO and sit within the Telemidi Platform.
Industries and Applications Powered by Telemidi
Coordinating time-regulated data transmission for millisecond-accurate, synchronous activity holds immense value, especially when aligning shared human intent or where nodes must coordinate under degraded network conditions. As a result, Telemidi supports applications across collaborative music services, online gaming, gambling, MoCap (Motion Capture), health and defence.
